Some fabulous vintage footage of steam activity between Greyrigg Bank and Tebay in the 1950s. Of particular interest, the water troughs at Dillicar. People who know the area will be interested to note the absence of the M6 motorway.
I kid you not, you wont see this every day. Maybe just as well. Jeremy Clarkson was seen on a pedal-cycle with one of these engines on the back, frightening little old ladies he passed going down the road, but thats Clarkson.
A bit like the 'Odd Couple' this unlikely pairing make a spectacular display of smoke and steam in the Yorkshire Dales. Then returning south bound to Chester, over the Runcorn bridge, thru Runcorn Station.
On an extremely breezy day, Gresley's GREEN ARROW struggles against the head wind on the viaduct. Due to earlier delays, the loco runs out of water shortly after this video was filmed. It led to a very creative way of obtaining water.
